Packed bed tower is a countercurrent washing flow, single or multistage and fit to high polluted gas stream and delivery rate in the range of 1000 to 150000 m³/h. The beds are with packed type Tellerette, Pall or Rashing (also other types are available) while the washings (single or multistage) are with water, acidic, basic, oxidizing, surfactant solutions for the abatement of mist, gases, smokes, odors.
The floating bed tower is particularly suitable for the control of particulates in the air or gas flow, and its main advantage is the low pressure drop. The floating elements are hollow balls made of PE, they are kept suspended by the gas stream that is a countercurrent flow as to the washing solution flow.
Cross flow scrubber with packed beds can be with single or multistage washing (up to 4 stages) depending on the process needs, and with delivery capacity of 5000 to 180000 m³/h. Their main advantages are the compactness and the low energy operating cost, thanks of the low working pressure drop.
Venturi scrubber is especially suited for the particulates (0,5 to 10 μm) removal from gas flow. The efficiency of that equipment is related to dust dimensions, to the speed of the gas stream in the Venturi shrinking section, and to the dimension of the water solution drops. The dimensions and the design features depend strictly on the pollution control target of the specific gas flow.
Baffle scrubber is used mainly for the abatement of the gas flow particulate. The baffle is a flat sheet fit to force the contact between the gas stream and the washing solution that are flowing countercurrent each other.
